Really considering starting my own business. Anyone got advice?
I'm actually very interested in the negative advice. What are all the challenges that I should consider and be properly mindful of?
I can easily tell myself how great it will be to be my own boss and hopefully grow a successful business and make lots of money. And you always hear that it takes a lot of work and time and the other generic hurdles. But what is it really like in the trenches in the first few months? Whether it was consulting or online business or brick and mortar shop, I'm curious how hard those first few steps really are on a person.
It's hard to give up the security of a full time position with benefits and steady predictable income. Anyway, tip of my hat to those of you who did jump in and start your own business. Making the decision to get started is already proving much harder than I anticipated.
